NEWS: Full Moon Glory Hole is now a movie

We ripped off Jimmy Olsen's dick. Seriously.

Longtime readers may recall a little comic I threw together with my buddy, the indie director Thom Newell, a few years back, but here’s a crash course for the fuzzy-memoried Millenials approaching middle age (and everyone else who needs it):

Basically, some now-forgotten comics anthology was accepting horror pitches, I’m not a horror guy, Thom is, I asked him if he had a comic-ready idea, he pitched me Full Moon Glory Hole, we pitched it to the anthology, they rejected us, we made it anyway, and here it is:

Well it turns out that this little romp has surpassed my oeuvre to become The Most Successful Thing I Have Ever Worked On, because Thom pulled some friends¹ together to turn it into an honest-to-goodness short film sometime last year.

And that’s not all!

The short film is actually going to travel and pop up in some interesting places.

That is pretty much all I’m allowed to say at this point, unless I want to spend the next few months playing Jason Bourne to Big Hollywood and their deep bench of NDA-enforcement super soldiers.

In any case, it’s safe to say that there’s a bit of to do about this, so if you want to keep an eye on those announcements please go give Thom a follow on X where he’ll be sharing news as he’s allowed².

Before we go, I have been cleared to share a bit of behind-the-scenes, which I will do so below with light commentary:

“Hey, she looks just like the character in the comic!” Why yes, close reader, this is Courtney Bandeko, the actor who gave us permission to use her likeness for the short comic. Very cool to see her reprise the role IRL!

Here’s Thom, Courtney, and Sam Huntington, who plays our villain. Comic fans may delight in remembering that Sam played Jimmy Olsen in the 2006 film Superman Returns.

I got lots of compliments for how gory the climax was in the comic. Rest assured, Thom’s film increases that by a factor of 10.

I recall Thom told me to draw a lot of blood. “Like, think of how much blood the human body contains, and double it,” he said.
