Longtime readers may recall a little comic I threw together with my buddy, the indie director Thom Newell, a few years back, but here’s a crash course for the fuzzy-memoried Millenials approaching middle age (and everyone else who needs it):
Basically, some now-forgotten comics anthology was accepting horror pitches, I’m not a horror guy, Thom is, I asked him if he had a comic-ready idea, he pitched me Full Moon Glory Hole, we pitched it to the anthology, they rejected us, we made it anyway, and here it is:
COMIC: Full Moon Glory Hole
Big reminder folks that if you like this post, hit the ❤️ up there to let me know, or leave me a 💬 down below, I’d love to hear from you. Earlier this year, my buddy Thom Newell and I submitted a short pitch to a horror-themed anthology. Horror is not my game, so I turned to Thom, a writer / director who loves cult slasher and B-horror flicks, to see if…
Well it turns out that this little romp has surpassed my oeuvre to become The Most Successful Thing I Have Ever Worked On, because Thom pulled some friends1 together to turn it into an honest-to-goodness short film sometime last year.
And that’s not all!
The short film is actually going to travel and pop up in some interesting places.
That is pretty much all I’m allowed to say at this point, unless I want to spend the next few months playing Jason Bourne to Big Hollywood and their deep bench of NDA-enforcement super soldiers.
In any case, it’s safe to say that there’s a bit of to do about this, so if you want to keep an eye on those announcements please go give Thom a follow on X where he’ll be sharing news as he’s allowed2.
Before we go, I have been cleared to share a bit of behind-the-scenes, which I will do so below with light commentary:

Before we go, I want to point you to a separate post of mine with some backmatter and pinups from the OG comic:

And if you want to grab a print of the “movie poster” cover, you can do so on INPRNT:
That’s all. Be good!
Thom teamed up with Radio Silence (directors of recent horror romps like Ready or Not, Scream VI, and Abigail) to make the film.
Thom will also be adding screening updates to www.thomnewell.com/fullmoon.
