Super refreshing take. I’ve felt the urge to tweet similar (albeit much shorter) things over the last few weeks. But I just don’t care enough to get into internet spats anymore. Whether it’s this hot take about recasting T’Challa or that review that points out why Rings of Power is actually the worst thing ever.

I am, as you say, “doing the work” to tell a story I love. One that’s full of my values as well as some I don’t. Like the real world, good fiction requires nuance. As creators we should know better. It’s tiring to see folks walk deeper and deeper down a path of endless bickering.

For the record, I was (and technically still am) a big Bernie guy. I didn’t take any offense to your juxtaposition early in the piece, nor am I saying this as some type of obscure moral/political posturing. But in today’s climate it’s important that people see examples of nuance in action:

I think Bernie has a lot of really good ideas, and so did Elon at one time or another. I believe capitalism is deeply flawed, but it also has fundamentally changed the world for the better. I don’t want to spend $8 on Blue Twitter, but I want people to read my stuff.

I largely agree with your points here, top to bottom. And where I may have said a thing or two differently I admire the willingness you’re showing to be true to you. The indie comics space cannot turn into the next online community with artificial lines drawn in the sand because as you pointed out, then only the assholes win.
