NEWS: Handful of interesting bits and bobs for your weekend
A quick read with some links to pore through if you're bored this weekend
Hey fellas!
Nothing big to share today, but a lot of fun little things I didn’t think you’d want to miss, so I’m here to take a quick dump on you.
Wait, that didn’t…
NEVERMIND.
Spiderman 2099
Miguel is having his best year since 1999, what with the upcoming Across the Spiderverse and the release of the long-awaited complete omnibus printing of the original comics run, which, after sitting in my pre-orders for a year, I finally hold in my hands.
I tried reminding the internet of this Oscar Isaac Spiderman 2099/Blade Runner 2049 jam I did a few years back, and am now reminding you both of it and to like/share it:
The Last of Us… 3?
In other “I have no idea what the internet likes, and can not predict what will go viral so stop asking” news, I recently finished another playthrough of The Last of Us II, an absolute masterpiece by my lights, and drew this little diddy to imagine a hypothetical Part III:
This blew up on Reddit, and I saw a ton of interesting debate in the comments.
On Twitter? Crickets.
The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh away.
Media Appearances
Did a few final media spots to promote Tower of Death (each with a different color of shades!).
First up, a second turn on The FAQs Project with James Grandmaster Boyce.
I’m a regular listener to FAQs and I loved getting another chance to talk to the Grandmaster. For my money, he’s one of the most genuine and curious hosts on the pop culture convos scene.
Give it a listen on Amazon, or watch on YouTube.
Second, my first spin on Keeping It Geekly, one of the bigger shows on the indie comics scene.
You know when you’re listening to a podcast, and the conversation feels so genuine that it’s almost like you’re there, part of it? That's the vibe here.
We kicked off with a surprisingly heartfelt chat about quitting smoking, dads, and loss which established a real bond before getting into the comics of it.
Cody is a fantastic host and did a lot for me here, walking his audience through the Kickstarter tier by tier and getting real-time feedback during the livestream.
I think you can watch the livestream here, and if not, it’ll be on YouTube here later.
Last call for Tower of Death
We’re in the last couple days of the Tower of Death Kickstarter!
We’ve met our goal, so backing us is a sure bet.
If you want a printed copy and haven’t backed us yet, you’re officially running out of time.
Get in there!
That’s all for now.
Be good!
