COMIC: 'Full Moon Glory Hole' bonus content
An in-universe pinup, and a cover for the print version (also, there will be a print version).
Hey fellas!
A bit of news, as well as some pretty things to look at today.
You’ll recall the now-classic short comic Full Moon Glory Hole published right here for free this past Halloween (and if you’re newer to our shores, link below to get caught up, warning: NSFW/horrifying):
The cool news is that Thom (the writer) has opted to print a short run, so you may be able to get your hands on a physical copy at some point in the coming year!
The problem is, a 5-page comic is impossible to print, so we needed to add some more pages.
Big reminder folks that if you like this post, hit the ❤️ up there to let me know, or leave me a 💬 down below, I’d love to hear from you.
We’ve opted for the usual backmatter (short essays, behind-the-scenes, an ad or two for other projects) but still came up a tad short.
So, I offered to create a few more pages of original art for the project.
The first is a unique cover page, which you can view below:
Given Thom’s status as a film director and the comic’s intentional homage to classic cult horror flicks, the movie poster look made sense here.
Took FOREVER to get the billing right, by the way (and if you want that font, this is what I used).
You may also notice that the art itself is also an homage to the classic cult horror flick Fright Night:
And, because it’s me, we had to do a pinup of the character Nicole from the comic (likeness of actress Courtney Bandeko):
Not sure you can zoom up on the fine print there, but that, along with the rest of the ad, is packed with ribald, tongue-in-cheek references to the comic.
The ad is also an homage, based on a real retro Jolt energy drink ad from the 80s:
That’s all for today (told you it’d be short!).
I’ll let you know when you can get your hands on a copy as soon as I know more.
Until then, help me spread the word, why don’t ya?
And if you’re new here, please subscribe!
Ta ta, be good.
