Sneak peek of RDE #2!
No time for me today? Here are the highlights:
First several panels of Ronin Digital Express #2
Event Fatigue Podcast and Casino Royale art
Some recommendations
Hey folks!
It's Saturday, which means there's really not much rolling around in my brain box.
It's a good time for right-side work like playing guitar or drawing, but most days I sort of just wander from room to room making vague motions and ambiguous grunts.
All that's to say I don't have much to say, so let's look at some drawings instead, shall we?
Ronin Digital Express episode 2 is humming right along. I'm hoping to be ready by month's end, though we may be sneaking into November and competing with the fate of the nation.
Here are the first several panels as a sneak peek:
Here's where you can find Ronin Digital Express on Webtoon Canvas.
Catch up on the first couple episodes, subscribe, like, share, all the stuff that tells the internet you like it.
Also ICYMI, we have a new episode of Event Fatigue Podcast:
It's a little timely, Milton and I like to be edgy like that.
Anyway, you can read that, like it, share it, all the aforementioned stuff here.
LASTLY, I took a bit of a break from RDE to work on this piece inspired by Casino Royale:
I've wanted to do a take on this scene for a while, so as soon as I felt the giddyup, I had to get on it.
Got some nice compliments on the coloring here which felt nice, because coloring is still my biggest suck point. We'll get there I'm sure.
Anyway, it'll be a while before I put this one online, so this is for your eyes only (*cue 007 theme*).
I've been building up a backlog of pop culture art and the plan is to share it once I'm 4 or 5 episodes of RDE in so as to attract more attention to my shenanigans.
Here are a few books I've been reading you should check out.
The Impending Blindness of Billie Scott, debut graphic novel by Zoe Thorogood. This kind of comic is not usually my cuppa, but there's something about the theme of "hey, you know that thing you've got that defines you? The thing at the bottom of you? That's about to be gone. Now what?" that really appeals to me.
Notes of a Hanging Judge, a series of essays from the late Stanley Crouch. Quite the heterodox thinker, which I'm very attracted to. I didn't know anything about him until I heard of his recent death. It's funny how people can be unaware of you your whole life and discover the leaves you left behind after, and sometimes because of, your death.
Batman: Year One, because, how long has it been since you last cracked it open? Time for a revisit.
That's all for now.
Thank you for your support. It really means a lot.
Be good.
